Barnes Atelier Summer Scholarship
Established in 2018, the Barnes Atelier Summer Scholarship offers an opportunity for fine art students and practicing artists to apply for a space on the summer drawing course at Barnes Atelier for free tuition.
No prerequisite experience required and the competition is open to all artists over 18 years of age.

Art Renewal Center (ARC) Scholarship
Students attending the Barnes Atelier Masters Academy Programme have access to enter the Art Renewal Center’s annual scholarship competition. The ARC Awards $30,000 a year to students attending ARC Approved Schools™ to aid with their continued education.
The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) funds the education of talented and aspiring craftspeople through traditional college courses, apprenticeships or one-one-one training with the masters.
Applications are taken at various times throughout the year and range from £1000-18000.
Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation
The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant is one of the most prestigious grants available to emerging figurative artists, as well as one of the most substantial. It is one of the longest standing, with an illustrious history of recipients spanning more than half a century. It is also unique in its scope, in that it is available to students and artists around the world.
First grants are in the amount of CAD $15,000 each. Subsequent grants are in the amount of CAD $18,000 each. Grants are made directly to the beneficiaries, not to or through other organisations.
Art Renewal Center (ARC) Salon Competition
The International ARC Salon is the largest in the world in terms of entries, and the most diverse in terms of categories and international participation. This makes the International ARC Salon Competition the most influential and far reaching competition for Contemporary Realism in the world, offering over $100,000 in cash awards and international recognition through partnerships with prestigious magazines, galleries and museums, with live exhibitions and a strong online presence.
BP Portrait Award Competition
After 30 years of sponsorship the BP Portrait Award still remains the most prestigious portrait painting competition in the world and represents the very best in contemporary practice. With a first prize of £35,000, and a total prize fund of £74,000, the Award is aimed at encouraging artists to focus upon and develop portraiture in their work.
The competition is open to everyone aged 18 and over.
Lynne Painter-Stainers Prize
The Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize was created in 2005 by the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and the Lynn Foundation to encourage the very best creative representational painting and promote the skill of draughtsmanship. With prize money of £35,000 the Prize is one of the most prestigious awards to artists in the UK.
Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize
Selected from original art works, the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize and exhibition has an established reputation for its commitment to championing excellence and promoting and celebrating the breadth of contemporary drawing practice within the UK. This open exhibition is a platform for drawing practitioners to showcase their work alongside other leading contemporary artists and makers in the field, with the exhibition touring widely in the UK.
